We have an exciting new opportunity for a Senior Systems Engineering in Aguadilla Puerto Rico.
General Description:
Performs analysis at all levels of the total system product including concept, design, fabrication, modeling, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Considers and evaluates alternatives accounting for similar metrics. Manages configuration process, performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs architectural exploration. Decomposes customer specifications and system level requirements into sub-system and piece part requirements, and generates verification criteria and plans for the requirements.

MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES

Position span all phases of system product development including:

  • System requirements analysis, definition, and validation
  • System architecture design
  • System requirements allocation
  • System integration and requirements verification testing
  • System modeling and simulation
  • Coordination among systems, hardware, ASIC and software design functions
  • Developing systems related documentation
  • Develop business unit engineering processes and/or support optimization of these processes
  • This position will also require supporting bid and proposal activities in pursuit of new business opportunities.
  • Attend and have participation in group meetings, teleconferences and/or training required.
  • Actively participate in initiatives for continuous improvement using ACE tools.
  • Support project management activities.
  • Based on business needs, the incumbent may be required to support other duties/functions within the company.
Basic Requirements:
  • Bachelor degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science*. Or Industrial Engineering.

    *Bachelor in Computer Science needs to include 12-18 credits hours in mathematics, including differential and integral calculus and applied mathematics and 10-15 credit hours in natural science including physics is required.
  • US Citizenship required due to government contracts
  • 7 years of experience of system engineering processes
  • Experience in system requirements capture, design, and decomposition
  • Experience with system integration and test
  • Experience with development processes (e.g., SDLC)
  • Familiarity with Engineering Development tools like DOORS, Matlab, Simulink, Enterprise Architect, etc.
  • Experience with hardware description languages (e.g. VHDL, etc.)
  • Experience with modern software languages (e.g. Java, C, C++, C#, Python, perl, etc.)
  • English fluency (verbal and written)
  • Good communication and presentation skills in English (verbal and written)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior experience in GPS development
  • Experience with modeling languages such as UML, SysML, and DoDAF
  • Experience with GPS simulators
  • Familiarity with business process management tools is a plus (e.g., Stages)
  • Experience with Agile teams
