The P&W Military APU Business, located in West Palm Beach, Florida, currently manages over a dozen production programs, with at least three new engines in development and the opportunity to capture several more in the near future. Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for meeting the APU financial plan, identifying risks and mitigating actions, and ensuring compliance to all company policies throughout the portfolio
  • P&L accountability for all APU and Turbojet production programs, including price, cost, quality and delivery
  • Establish robust Integrated Program Management Team (IPMT) structure and business processes that enable speed of execution and adherence to Pratt & Whitney standard work
  • Develop cost reduction strategies to improve margins and increase competiveness
  • Provide a clear vision to others of what the organization needs to ensure its future success: motivate; take ownership and responsibility for the future direction of the organization; set high expectations and goals, encourage others to excel; focus on guiding others toward the most important objectives of the organization
  • Monitor progress and hold self and others accountable for performance: actively measure and evaluate information on how the organization and its people are doing with respect to business goals and customer requirements; convey priorities with the right sense of urgency and importance; delegate and gives direct reports the latitude to decide how best to proceed
  • Focus the organization on identifying and meeting customer requirements and expectations: listen to and fully understand customer's needs; interact in an effective and positive manner and consider customer's perspective and consequences before taking action or making decisions; ensure commitments to customers are met
  • In all areas of responsibility, the incumbent is responsible for providing full compliance with the "UTC Policy Statement on Contracting with the United States Government" and the "UTC Code of Ethics" which includes ensuring subordinate staff are aware of the policies and that their responsibilities and actions comply with and support these policies. Qualifications
  • Minimum qualifications: Undergraduate degree required, preferably in engineering, operations, business, or similar field. MBA or M.S. degree is preferred. Minimum of 10 or more years of related experience with 5 plus years of progressive management experience.
