Job Description:

This position is for an intern in Military Engines Customer Support Engineering. This internship position is within Pratt & Whitney's military engine sustainment organization based in East Hartford, CT. The engineering intern will support the F135, F119, or F100 Engines in support of our global war fighter customer base. Specific engine program placement will be assigned according to business need.

The intern will be mentored by a senior engineer and assist by providing support for the following activities:

  • Manufacturing blueprint interpretation

  • Working with the jet engine SE remanufacture supply base repair sourcing and execution
  • Repair strategy

  • Technical data review & interpretation
  • Coordination with engine fleet management programs

  • Technical support of Support Equipment, Systems, or Hardware on various Military Engines programs

  • Product team technical presentations and cross organization communication
  • Development and creation of standard work for various processes/procedures

  • Develop databases and process matrices
  • Base/Depot set up and infrastructure lay in

  • Participate in lean manufacturing initiatives that support continuous process improvement

    Education/Certifications:

  • Candidate must be a US Citizen.

  • Candidate must be enrolled in an accredited Undergraduate University. Experience/Qualifications:

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Systems, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering, GPA of 3.0 or higher.

  • A working-knowledge of gas turbine engine operating theory, value stream mapping, standard operating procedures, root-cause analysis, mistake-proofing is desired.

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational, time management skills and the ability to work well with multi-disciplinary groups is required.
