Under direction of leader/supervisor, follow instructions and drawings to plan and layout material requirements, determine sequence of project operations required support services and obtain tools and equipment to meet schedule requirements. Follow up to assure equipment and supplies are available when required. Communicate construction changes which impact operating requirements, maintenance, testing procedures and work practices. Work on special assignments with supervisors, engineers, vendor or other trade groups and customers to review and prepare for new service installations, recommend service requirements and equipment selection and check out system operations to specifications. Perform system installation, maintenance and repair work and carry out preventative maintenance and service as required. Perform similar duties throughout the facility within the skill level of this job description. Assist other trades working on joint projects where common skill crossover provides for shared responsibilities and more effective use of available skills. Develop system start up, operation, monitoring and servicing procedures and techniques and assist operators. A Class E-2 electrical license is required. May be required to train for, obtain and maintain other licenses, operator permits and certifications within assigned area. May be assigned to carry out tasks not specifically listed, within scope and skill level of this job description in support of department objectives and to develop individuals' skills. Education: Requires comprehensive knowledge of electricity and electronics, A.C. and D.C. circuits, various phase power and distribution systems and working knowledge of electrical code as applied to industrial work, including installations in hazardous areas. Must be able to read complex drawings and schematic diagrams, use shop mathematics and understand principles of solid state devices. Equivalent to 2-3 years of trade training. High School Diploma or GED. Experience: 1 to 2 years of experience required
