The Continuous Process Improvement Specialist is a critical team member in monitoring and leading Continuous Process Improvement key performance indicators and processes in the facility and at critical suppliers.

This position requires working closely with the purchasing and operations team in a value stream environment to streamline & standardize processes/metrics, while still maintaining operational flow, established business goals, deliverables and key performance indicators. This position is instrumental in introducing and assisting site in implementing the process improvement methodology and using the appropriate tools and gated process to drive positive change within the company culture and deliver tangible results, through reduction of COPQ (cost of poor quality) and productivity process improvement.

This position requires a "hands on" approach and will be tactical, engaging in daily operations and purchasing processes/activities with management, supervisors and team members. Oversees internal ACE/lean trainings and facilitates ACE events. Ensures and enables ACE site & Cell certifications. Functions and Responsibilities

  • Engages in "end to end" continuous process improvement initiatives throughout the site and at key suppliers.

  • Works directly with suppliers for process improvement to drive operational excellence.

    This includes but is not limited to leading Supplier Corrective Action and insuring a timely closed loop process with Control plans as required.

  • Experience, confidence and maturity to make decisions and act without constant supervision and direction.
  • Understands and communicates "the voice of the customer" (externally and internally) and works in a team effort to help the internal customers define and establish process improvement priorities, and mentors project and process teams through the problem solving process. Conducts Supplier visits, as required to evaluate processes, facilitate process improvement and optimize supplier productivity, delivery and quality.

  • Assesses, evaluates and identifies process improvement opportunities, working closely with the various functions to develop the project plans and provide leadership to the team utilizing the appropriate approach, utilizing continuous improvement tools and assisting in training/mentoring as required.

  • Comfortable and competent in visiting supplier locations and engaging in "hands on" evaluation of critical processes, and directly engaging with the supplier to drive process improvement.

  • Comfortable in impromptu speaking and presentations in various venues and to various audiences.

  • Works independently to train site ACE pilots, management and their respective teams on lean, continuous improvement, project management, and business integration skill sets to enhance the capabilities of the team in reengineering initiatives.
  • Applies ACE tools and methodologies in business and manufacturing environments to drive best in class processes while working to become a recognized ACE Practitioner/ACE Master.

  • Uses best practices related to quality control procedures when evaluating an organization's products.

  • Compiles moderately complex monthly ACE Performance Metrics that focus on organization objectives in the areas of cost, efficiency, and quality.

  • Demonstrates and coaches lower level professionals on the proper application and interpretation of the ACE criteria in order to gain certification as an ACE Silver/Gold assessor.

  • Provides expertise and content for ACE training materials to ensure a successful ACE Certification Program.

  • US Citizenship required due to government contracts

    *Experience/Qualifications

    Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • Prior experience in Control Plans, FMEA, Process Mapping, RRCA, control plans, and similar tools required.

  • Experience analyzing data

  • 3 years of experience with continuous improvement
