Pratt & Whitney Systems Design & Component Integration (SDCI) Organization is responsible for integrating the design of components, modules and systems into world class commercial and military propulsion systems. The SDCI organization is seeking several NGPF (Next Generation Product Family) Design and System Integration Team (DSIT) lead located in East Hartford with strong technical, communication and teamwork skills. The successful candidate will be responsible to direct a multi-functional team of practitioners from across the company. Key Responsibilities include:

  • Acting as the DSIT lead for a major engine program (30k thrust, 24k thrust, and 17k thrust)
  • Oversee all engineering changes and ensure the impact at engine system level is assessed.
  • Manage the program top technical issues and risks, and work with the CIPT (component integrated product team) to resolve the issues and mitigate the risks.
  • Support engine program system level design reviews (PDR, CDR, etc.)
  • Lead a small team of design integration engineers to:
  • Negotiates Component Interface Coordination Requirements (CICRs) for Development, Tooling and Production
  • Identify and resolve issues with functional and mechanical interfaces
  • Ensure a balanced system level solution for interface trades across modules
  • Integrate with Airframe Integration (AFI), a multi-disciplined PW/supplier/airframe team, to update and maintain the Interface Control Document (ICD) with the Airframer(s)
  • Support technical reviews for system level interface compliance to requirements
  • Communicate technical status and priority to the Engineering and Program management teams
Basic Qualifications
7+ years as a design or project engineer. Experience in the EC process is required. Teamcenter and Sharepoint experience is desirable. Must be competent in Teamcenter, SharePoint, and Configuration Management procedures for Production, Prototype, and Development, for both Engine and Propulsion Systems products
Education Certification
Minimum of BS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering required
