Pratt & Whitney Systems Design & Component Integration (SDCI) Organization is responsible for integrating the design of components, modules and systems into world class commercial and military propulsion systems. The SDCI organization is seeking a Design Integration Lead for the V2500 Program with strong technical, communication and teamwork skills. The successful candidate will be responsible to direct a cross functional team of practitioners from across the company. Technical Management Responsibilities Include:

  • Technical recommendations for mechanical issues, interface management & resolution (including process issues), and mechanical issues across CIPT's, Engineering Disciplines & sub-systems and field issue resolution.
  • Manage systems level analysis and design for thermal management, rotor dynamics, and full engine structural behavior.
  • Evaluate component and subsystem mechanical design and assess capability of propulsion/power system to meet its mechanical system requirements
  • Manage the risk process, & develop mitigation plans for system level mechanical risk
  • Manages mechanical integration of the propulsion system with the Air Vehicle/Power Plant, including airframe integration
  • Manage physical configuration definition and control for propulsion product, including EC management including CCB
  • Support all system level Product Design Reviews
  • Program Chief Engineer (PCE) delegate for technical point of contact for mechanical design issues with program, customers, partners, and regulatory agencies
  • Participate in technology program reviews Budget/Schedule Prioritization:
  • Ensure all mechanical system requirements are met on schedule and cost Process Improvement
  • Manage system level value events
  • Identify gaps in standard work at system and module levels that impact mechanical design; defines alternative approaches.

    Experience/Qualifications
    Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in engineering discipline 5+ Years of experience with gas turbine engine operation, design, and familiarity with engine hardware and function. Preferred Qualifications: Experience Presenting Excellent Communication Skills Ability to work on a crossfunctional team Experience with powerpoint ability to communicate at all levels( customers/peers/executives)

    Education Certification
    Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Discipline
