Pratt & Whitney, a worldwide leader in jet engines, is looking for a dedicated individual to be part of the Engineering Tools and Methods Team within the Engine Design and Systems Integration (EDSI) organization. This individual would specifically work on the Model Based Definition, Manufacturing and Inspection (MD-DMI) project.
The role of the Engineering Tools and Methods team is to modernize Engineering enterprise multi-discipline value stream tools and methods to enable productivity, usability and game changing products. In this role, you will be joining the team to implement MB-DMI across Pratt & Whitney.Â MB-DMI is a company-wide initiative to augment 3D models with machine readable content to reduce the downstream need to re-create definition, and to enable automation in both internal and external Producers.Â MB-DMI relies on Model Based Definition (MBD) as a foundational element and eliminates the need for conventional 2D drawings.
You will be supporting: the creation methods for the source NX MBD data, the production of derivative MBD data to be consumed downstream, integration of derived products into PLM related processes, validation tools for all MBD data, and transmission tools for delivery of MBD data to our supplier base. Responsibilities will include: defining and documenting requirements for new functionality, unit testing, acceptance testing, deployment planning, production validation, and providing leadership to guide the development of functional requirements. You will identify training needs, develop learning media, coordinate with suppliers to streamline the incorporation of PW processes, and work with internal organizations to ensure standard work/processes are updated to support new functionality for users.
The successful candidate will have strong communication skills (both verbal and written), be self-motivated, persistent, focusing on results. They must be able to multi-task and be able to work through roadblocks, raising issues and identifying solutions to ensure tasks are driven to completion.Â These skills are essential for teaming with all the organizations that comprise the MB-DMI team (Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Digital Technologies (DT), software developers, etc.) and integrating the requirements for the Engineering organization.Â
- BS in Engineering with 5 + years of Digital Technologies Business Analysis experience to include extracting process and business requirements, requirements documentation, User Acceptance Testing, Teamcenter & NX experience - specifically PMI application for NX for MBD and evaluating software. Also experience with leading process change.
- MS in Engineering with 3+ years of Digital Technologies Business Analysis experience to include extracting process and business requirements, requirements documentation, User Acceptance Testing, Teamcenter & NX experience - specifically PMI application for NX for MBD and evaluating software. Also experience with leading process change.
- Familiar with DT Passport Review Process, ERI, DDM, DocAccess, TDPS
- Anark 3D PDF production tools, Capvidia MBDVidia (QIF), CADIQ.
