Performs analysis at all levels of the total system product including concept, design, fabrication, modeling, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Considers and evaluates alternatives accounting for similar metrics. Manages configuration process, performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs architectural exploration. Decomposes customer specifications and system level requirements into sub-system and piece part requirements, and generates verification criteria and plans for the requirements

MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES OR TASKS

  • Design and development of business unit engineering processes
  • Works on multiple projects to assist in the technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, evaluating alternatives including cost and risk, supportability and analyses for total systems
  • Conducts engineering processes using standard work, including verification and qualification procedures
  • Seeks to identify possible problems presented in applicable projects that may cause a delay or exceed budget
  • Contributes to finding appropriate solutions
  • Implements software tools to enable better delivery, consumption, and sustainment of engineering processes
  • Helps establish a means of process effectiveness measurement
  • Streamlining and optimizing legacy processes for best business unit alignment
  • Effectively interact and build trust with team members from many different backgrounds, including
    engineering management, engineering teams, program management, and operations
  • Attend and have participation in group meetings, teleconferences and/or training required.
  • Actively participate in initiatives for continuous improvement using ACE tools and support AS9100 efforts.
  • Support delivery team with project management activities by providing required project status artifacts.
  • Apply project management skills to assigned tasks/projects with minimum supervision.
  • Based on business needs, the incumbent may be required to support other duties/functions within the company.


Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelorâ€s degree
  • 3 years of related experience in Engineering
  • Knowledge in system requirements capture, design, and decomposition
  • Knowledge of software and hardware integration
  • Experience with development processes (e.g., SDLC)
  • US Citizenship required due to government contracts
  • English fluency (verbal and written)


    Preferred Skills
    • Bachelorâ€s degree in Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Industrial Engineering
    • Familiarity with business process management tools is a plus (e.g., Turbo TCP, Stages)
    • Design and development of business unit engineering processes
    • Implementing software tools to enable better delivery, consumption, and sustainment of engineering processes
    • Experience with Java
    • Knowledge of Agile software development
    • Good communication and presentation skills in English (verbal and written).
    • Works on assigned tasks under moderate supervision
    • Strong teamwork skills
