A phenomenal opportunity exists to join us in the role of 2nd shift Machine Tool Services Supervisor (MTS) at our East Hartford, CT Campus.

East Hartford Repair and Overhaul (EHRO) repairs and delivers highly technical products for the aerospace industry. In this role, you will be responsible for managing a team of skilled traders, general maintenance employees or outside contractors who construct, maintain, and repair equipment in the manufacturing shop.

Responsibilities / Accountabilities:

  • Set day-to-day goals and objectives for team members.
  • Oversee planning, organizing, and scheduling maintenance for the shop.
  • Ensure proper functioning of machines through ongoing inspection and predictive maintenance.
  • Assess and evaluate the physical space requirements of the organization and recommend plans to meet needs.
  • Manage payroll in a timely manner.
  • Maintain up to date training for all hourly employees.
  • Craft work schedules to assure the EHRO MTS plan is integrated with internal and external facility services providers.
  • Aid in moving existing equipment and installing newly acquired capital equipment.
  • Generate purchase orders prior to contractors starting approved work onsite, conduct pre-job safety meetings to ensure clear communication of work is provided to contractors.
  • Use SAP and Suppler Relationship Management (SRM) to generate purchase orders to ensure contractor has valid method of payment prior to starting contract work.
  • Craft the work schedules and initiate purchase orders for the rearrangement of machinery to reorganize various departments.
  • Update maintenance charts/reports accordingly to provide visibility to business health.

Education/Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree plus 2 years of experience in maintenance/manufacturing experience, or
  • Associates Degree and 4+ years of maintenance/manufacturing experience, or
  • High School Diploma and 6+ years of maintenance/manufacturing experience in a supervisory role
  • A minimum of 3 years of Supervisory experience required
  • US citizenship required due to government contracts

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Ability to work with and effectively communicate with all levels of employees in the organization, both hourly and salary, union and non-union
  • Machine Tool experience preferred
  • Ability to encourage teamwork, participation, and drive individual accountability
  • Ability to work independent without daily supervision
  • You have a record of overcoming obstacles with limited resources in a dynamic manufacturing environment
  • A demonstrated record of maintaining good logistic controls, emotional intelligence, and teaming abilities
  • Able to prioritize tasks and plan workload effectively
  • Strong familiarity with ACE tools and processes preferred
  • Demonstrated track record of leadership and experience working in a Union Shop
  • Ability to meet deadlines and react quickly to changes in priorities.
