A phenomenal opportunity exists to join us in the role of a CNC Programmer at our East Hartford, CT Campus.

Pratt & Whitney East Hartford Repair Operations (EHRO) is looking for an experienced CNC Programmer.

EHRO is made up of two business units, Connecticut Rotating Parts (CTRP) and Connecticut Stator & Components (CTSC).

CTRP (Connecticut Rotating Parts Repair) is searching for an experienced CNC programmer to support all machining functions within the repair facility. We are the center of excellence for Fan Blades, Combustion Chambers, HPC/LPT Honeycomb, HPT Ducts Supports, HPC Stators, Disks, Drums, Hubs, HPT/LPT Air Seals and Shafts.

EHRO is a worldwide leader in the development of surface treat technologies including, Wire Spray, Thermal Coatings, High Velocity Oxygen Fuel Coating, Shot Peen, Laser Weld, Vacuum Heat Treat, Non-Destructive Testing (CMM, FPI, ECI, X-Ray and MGI), & Water Jet Stripping.

In this role, you would be responsible for the development, tryout, and troubleshooting of all CNC related programs required to accomplish repairs.

Create programs for turning, grinding, and milling operations. Display the ability to understand machine functionality within the business and solve program problems efficiently and quickly.

The individual would be integrated within the process engineering team supporting process development from the machine program side.

  • The CNC programmer would be expected to provide on-site support troubleshooting programs with operators and the engineering team.
  • The expectation is also to create new programs upon request and work with the operator through tryout and certification.
  • Experience with robotic programming for plasma spray, Waterjet, and CMM programming is a plus, but not required.

Education
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or relevant technical field is required.
Qualifications Basic Qualifications:
  • US Citizenship required.
  • Required are the following:
  • 5 years of experience developing CNC programs and tool selection.
  • 5 years of experience setting up CNC equipment and proving-out programs for first piece.
  • 5 years of understanding blueprint reading and geometric tolerance (GD&T).
  • 5-7 years of experience developing CNC programs using a Unigraphics NX and Vericut.
  • 5-7 years of experience modifying programs at the controls using "G" codes and "M" codes.
  • 5-7 years of experience setting up CNC machinery and producing certified first piece.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Advanced Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related Technical field preferred.
  • Must be a team player and have a strong ability to work with cross-functional teams to develop, troubleshoot and implementation of new and existing programs.
  • Experience with robotic programming for plasma spray, Waterjet, and CMM programming is a plus, but not required.
