The Pratt & Whitney team is responsible for working closely with manufacturers (internal shops, suppliers, partners) across the globe to ensure the delivery of affordable, high-quality parts that meet our customer's dynamic needs. Our team fosters an internal environment that thrives on utilization of the UTC ACE operating system, while coaching and supporting manufacturers to ensure they meet our quality standards and achieve success in their lean journey. Other responsibilities of the organization include driving on-time delivery, on-time to clearance, quality, cost reduction, optimizing inventory and material flow of parts for Pratt & Whitney programs. Â This role will have a matrixed reporting structure within the Pratt & Whitney Global Supply Chain & Manufacturing Operations organizations. Â
The role of the Supply Chain Manager (SCM) is both exciting & challenging. This position requires exceptional problem-solving skills & the ability to build efficient working relationships across the many P&W functional groups; Quality, Materials, Continuous Improvement, Production Readiness, Engineering, MCL, ESA, Global Work Share (GWS), Internal Customers, and multiple suppliers. Â Strong communication skills, specifically conversational, email, telephone, and presentation, are desired.Â Delighting customers is a must by providing timely and accurate updates via the most desired communication means.
The Supply Chain Manager role will be to manage the Account Specialists to ensure that all aspects of supplier relationships, including delivery and quality performance, cost and inventory management, Line of Balance (LOB), 6-Pack, SCIP, Underperforming Supplier Reviews, and customer satisfaction, are being performed. Â Thus, in this role the SCM will oversee purchase order execution and product delivery, ensuring placement of on-time schedule agreements, billing adjustments, tooling requirements, terminations mitigation & cost reduction goals execution.Â The Supply Chain Manager must comply with all aspects of the P&W Procurement Manual, GSC Standard Work, UTC Code of Ethics, International Trade Compliance, & Transition Standard Work (TSW), while making sure that their direct reports are also in compliance.
Additional responsibilities will include close coordination with New Program Integration (NPI) / Development Procurement, Global Transitions, Integrated Commodity Management Team (ICMT) leaders, Production Incorporation Product Team (PIPT) leaders, and Product IPTâ€s to effect a smooth transition of new NGPF hardware from development into full production as well as resolution of producibility and quality issues on key Commercial and Military programs.Â The role also offers the opportunity to engage with the relevant Strategic Sourcing team and participate in long term sourcing decisions.
The role of the Supply Chain Manager also requires the long-distance interaction with Regional Office personnel such as Delivery Assurance Specialists, Supplier Quality Assurance Representatives (SQARâ€s), MCL, ESA, Continuous Improvement Specialists, & the GWS â€Buyers & Plannersâ€ providing procurement & materials management for the commodities. As a Supply Chain Manager, they will be responsible to ensure quotations, cost analysis/price justification, market share appropriations, & placement of schedule agreements are completed on-time & in compliance with all appropriate regulations & procedures.Â
The Supply Chain Manager is also responsible for ensuring that the Account Specialist are reducing all forms of quality & delivery turn backs through weekly QCPC / MRP turn back meetings. Â The Supply Chain Manager Â is also accountable to implement effective Delivery/Quality Clinics (DQCâ€s) with suppliers, as required, and attend and support Vendor Corrective Action Board (VCAB) meetings to resolve quality issues, & attend & support Business Unit Reviews (BURâ€s) focused on delivery, & Purchasing Operation Reviewâ€s (POR's) to communicate efforts that reduce product cost.
Foster active daily use of the ACE operating system through ACE tool usage to improve EH&S, quality, delivery, financial, employee engagement, and customer satisfaction. Actively drive Supplier Gold by participating in supplier improvement activities, & Critical Supplier Reviews (CSRâ€s).
- Bachelor's Degree
- 10+ years of experience in manufacturing operations, program management, supply chain, or 8 years of experience in manufacturing operations, program management, supply chain with an advanced degree.
- 5 + Experience with Procurement or Supply Chain
- Bachelorâ€s Degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management or equivalent.
- Advanced degree (MS/MBA) preferred.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills-cross functionally and up to executive level
