This position is for an Engineering Intern in the Applied Mechanics Vibrations Group. The position provides the opportunity to work on a number of different types of component structural dynamic characterization tests, including: experimental modal analysis, tuned absorber testing, transient impact testing, component resonant response, laser holography, and high cycle fatigue testing. As an active member of several cross-functional problem solving teams, the Vibrations Intern will work closely with fellow engineers and associates of other disciplines such as Structures, Project, Design, and Manufacturing. Duties will include modal test design, test fixture design and procurement, program and instrumentation planning, coordination of test plans, development of cost and schedule estimates, test execution, data analysis, and formal report writing. The Vibrations Intern will be involved in the execution of test programs with the assistance of laboratory technicians, hourly stand crew employees, and/or outsource support. The Vibrations Intern will be committed to Environmental, Health, & Safety compliance and assist in the development of better test techniques and processes using UTC's Achieving Competitive Excellence operating system.

Do you meet these Basic Qualifications?

  • You're in an accredited undergraduate or graduate engineering degree program.
  • Fields of study: Engineering
  • You will have at least 30 credits prior to starting your internship
  • You have a GPA of 3.0 or higher

How about any of these Preferred Qualifications?
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and consistent record of collaboration, flexibility, innovation and initiative
