Job Responsibilities

Manage a group of engineers and technicians responsible for the support of materials development functions.

Serve as primary point of contact for support to operations.

Work scope includes analysis, validation and publication of materials characterization data; application of materials and process expertise in the development, design and repair areas (including materials engineering approvals of OEM product definition and aftermarket repair technical data); creation, maintenance and publication of PWA Specifications and industry participation in materials and process standards development.

The Manager shall ensure that training, tools, and core competencies are maintained within these core functional groups.

Regular interaction with all areas of MPE is required to ensure that distributed functions also maintain functional capabilities.

Basic Qualifications:

  • BS degree in Metallurgical Engineering or other related Engineering degree.
  • 12+ year's relevant engineering experience.
  • US Citizen due to program requirements
  • 5+ years in materials processing
  • 8+ years in aerospace design materials applications experience required, with direct experience in creation and application of materials and process data, engineering requirements, and product definition within the design process.
  • US Citizenship due to government programs.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Advanced degree in Metallurgical Engineering
  • Experience with design systems/product definition and materials characterization is preferred.
  • Experience in team leadership, program management, and possess demonstrated interpersonal and strategic planning skills.
  • Leadership skills
