Business Unit Overview:

The Pratt & Whitney Mechanical Systems, Externals and Nacelles (MSEN) engineering module center is seeking qualified candidates for the role Structures Engineering Intern.  MSEN is responsible for design, validation, manufacture, and delivery of the majority of engine hardware.  This includes:

  • Nacelle and thrust reverser systems
  • External plumbing, components, and ducts
  • The Lubrication and Thermal Management Systems
  • The rotor support hardware including bearings, seals, and the Fan Drive Gear System - the enabling technology for the P&W Geared Turbo Fan (GTF)

The selected candidate will be in a fast-paced environment, working with experienced structures engineers on various tasks supporting operational engines and engines in development.  The individual will learn about what is required in the overall design and structural analysis process of parts for engines including new and existing designs.   It is an exciting time at Pratt & Whitney! This is a unique opportunity for a college student in Engineering to get some high-quality industry experience and potentially start a long career working state of the art technologies on the best engines in the world.

Do you meet these Basic Qualifications?
  • US Citizenship is required due to government contracts .
  • You're in an accredited undergraduate or graduate engineering degree program. Fields of study:
  • You will have at least 30 credits prior to starting your internship
  • You have a GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and consistent record of collaboration, flexibility, innovation and initiative
  • You have a real passion for learning and pursuing a career in structural engineering
