Throughout the internship the candidate will be responsible for supporting commercial and military programs to address various materials and chemical processing needs. These programs encompass testing and validating environmentally friendly materials and processes, material/chemical compatibility, testing turbine engine alloys and qualification of external suppliers performing specialized operations. Specific tasks may include metallurgical testing and evaluation, pilot testing of chemical processes and coating property analysis (e.g. corrosion, wear, hardness, thickness etc.). The intern will also document and analyze data/results, prepare reports, draw conclusions and make recommendations based on their findings. Key processes include: Anodizing, conversion coat, electroplated coatings, organic and inorganic coatings, & chemical compatibility.
Do you meet these Basic Qualifications?
- You're in an accredited undergraduate or graduate engineering degree program.
- You will have at least 30 credits prior to starting your internship
- You have a GPA of 3.0 or higher
