Seeking a highly motivated Robotics Programming specialist with strong manufacturing/industrial Robotics skills to provide overall support for the P&W manufacturing facilities located in Columbus, GA.  Selected candidate will be responsible for design and support of the site's technical robotics solutions for critical value streams.  The selected individual will work with core engineering disciplines, out-sourced service providers, and customers to ensure that the needs, objectives, and requirements of the business are met.

Duties:

  • You will work with business leaders and machine tool vendors to understand specific robotics and automations requirements
  • Design and develop robotics programs to operate in live-production environment including fixturing and tooling selection and design
  • Support up to ~50 robots currently used in high volume manufacturing environment to include re-programming existing platforms as needed for integration with new process development
  • Translates customer requirements into a solution design primarily with IoT, PLC, SCADA, Robotics, and sensor technology
  • Understand integration points of machine tools with key applications for manufacturing operations
  • You will work with other engineering disciplines, as well as machine tool vendors to ensure coordinated project delivery to meet business priorities
  • Work with P&W and external resources to develop solutions supporting business objectives
  • You will work with P&W and contracted vendor resources to support SCADA architecture and applications, as well as industrial machine controllers (CNC, PLC), and other peripherals
  • You will document local automation processes, procedures and solutions as part of Standard Work
  • Support facility expansion & business transformation requirements relative to IoT
  • You will support the streamline of manufacturing processes and develop effective technologies

Education / Certifications
  • Bachelor's or Associate's degree and a minimum 5+ years of experience OR Master's degree and minimum 3+ years of experience

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Associate's degree and a minimum 5+ years of experience OR Master's degree and minimum 3+ years of experience
  • U.S. Citizenship required due to government contracts

Preferred Qualifications:
  • AS, BS, or MS in Electrical Engineering, Software/Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, with specific concentrations or expertise in Robotics programming.
  • Will consider candidates with 4-year degrees in out-of-scope disciplines or certificates in Robotics that can provide documentation of experience in Robotics and Automation.
  • Understanding of and hands on experience with super alloy traditional machining and processing of complex 3-D geometries.
  • Strong process/application skills with Fanuc & ABB robots, as well as programming experience required
  • Software development, integration, and scripting for manufacturing/industrial automation and robotics to include FANUC pendant teaching as a primary skill.
  • Knowledge of media finishing processes including tumble polishing, blasting, peening, and chemical processing
  • Experience with modern inspection technologies such as laser scanning, structured light or blue light, as well as traditional metrology & CMM.
  • Manufacturing processes with Furnaces, Forge Presses, Multi-axis Machining Centers
  • Understanding Operations for Material Management and Predictive Analytics
  • Proven written/verbal and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with all levels
  • Excellent customer service skills required providing a high level of service to satisfy/fulfill internal or external needs accurately in a timely manner
  • Must be able to work independently with limited direction to accomplish goals and have the ability to recognize areas for process improvement & formulate actionable plans to address such areas.
  • Organized / detail-oriented, problem solving, analytical, prioritization and multi-tasking skills
  • Ability to interpret high level business requirements, and liaise between business customers, technology teams and support teams.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, problem solving, project management, concise writing, communications and presentation skills highly desired.
  • Ability to work in a high energy, fast paced environment, able to adapt to changing business needs
  • Highly self-directed and able to learn quickly with a strong ability to drive and deliver results
  • Team oriented, with a strong work ethic and versatility
