Hot Section Module Center (HSMC) Special Technologies West Palm Beach, FL is looking for a 1st Shift Manufacturing Engineer to be a key contributor to our Manufacturing Engineering team!

You will be involved in continuous improvement using ACE principles to reduce cycle times, set up, part cost and lead times, while improving throughput.

You can be part of integrating product across multiple processes that support a Lean Transformation Plan. Your accomplishments improving the quality of the parts produced in our WPB Special Technologies business unit will be measured by reductions in scrap, rework and repair and non-conformances.

Maintain close liaison with operational departments, suppliers and/or customers to analyze and resolve issues relating to coatings, lasers, flow test, component inspection and process development.

You will drive improvements in manufacturing using problem solving tools such as, RedXÂ, Process Certification, and other ACE tools. Apply concepts of “Lean Manufacturing” by leading our Lean Transformation Plan, Value Stream Mapping, Standard Work and Cell Design events.

Key to the business unit is to ensure implementation of our five year capital making sure milestone commitments are kept and that new process improvement efforts are regularly introduced based on business needs.

Partner with Materials Processing Engineering (MPE), Signature Discipline Group (SDG), Hot Section Engineering (HSE) in support of aligning product definition with process capability as required to achieve your objectives. 

Educational requirements:

Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, or other related degree.

Basic Qualifications:

  • US Citizenship required due to government contracts
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a secret clearance
  • Bachelorâ€s degree required in mechanical engineering, or related degree
  • 2 + years†experience/ exposure to manufacturing environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Robotic Programming experience will be a plus
  • Sound business judgment, demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and ability to delight customers
  • Leadership experience within or outside of work experience
