Job Summary -

  • Interpretation of approved technical data such as Engine and Standard Practices Manuals, EAâ€s, TOâ€s, etc., which will flow down into process work instructions.
  • Develop, modify and maintain ASIâ€s (Aftermarket Services Instructions), which includes editing CAPPII & CAPP II E/S (Solumina) instructions.
  • Review tool designs, mark-up prints, issue request forms, track tool changes and corrections.
  • Perform the necessary process try-out tasks including set-ups, first piece runs, process development and gage correlations.
  • Support and assist in TAT reductions, On-Time Delivery and Sales & EBIT Goals.
  • Review Engineering Hold items on a daily basis and determine proper course of action.
  • Develop new equipment, process and troubleshoot problem operations
  • May require off-shift coverage based on business requirements.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering field with 2+ years of manufacturing engineering and/or operations experience or Master's Degree in an Engineering field with 6+ months of manufacturing engineering and/or operations experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Chemical Engineering or Material Engineering
  • Demonstrated knowledge of thermal spray, surface preparation, part masking, robotic programming, and/or peening
  • Experience with statistical process control and continuous improvement using ACE methodology or equivalent (ACE Associate is a plus)
  • Demonstrated technical problem solving and trouble-shooting skills
  • Strong computer skills and experience with general office software
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including ability to work effectively in a cross-functional environment
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal
  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities simultaneously
