We are looking for an Associate Director of Supplier Quality & Development to l ead Supplier Quality activities for the Compression System Module Center at the Middletown, CT facility. This position will have direct responsibility over a team of Supplier Quality Engineers aimed at improving overall supplier performance leading to improved product quality and on-time deliveries. The supply base is located both domestically and internationally around the globe. Direct interaction with the Executive Leadership team will occur regularly. The expectation would be to enhance supplier performance, as well as, developing and coaching the Supplier Quality Engineering team.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing strategic leadership and tactical management direction while driving behavior that exhibits the highest business integrity
  • Ensuring compliance to company, customer, regulatory, and other procedures and requirements while fostering a quality culture throughout all functions of a value stream quality organization in a positive and teaming manner
  • Driving both strategic and tactical execution of the Quality System. This is  a key leadership role that requires integration and teaming with facility General Mangers and associated leadership team members. Included aspects of this leadership role are :
  • 1. Quality - Drives the elimination of escapes and Cost of Poor Quality (CoPQ); establishes procedures for maintaining high standards of quality, reliability, and safety; organizes and promotes company-wide quality improvement efforts; implements and maintains the company Quality system in accordance with current quality standards, reporting on performance systems for review and as a foundation for improvement
  • 2. Continuous Improvement - Uses robust tools to drive business efficiencies and improvements; leads investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action solutions as needed; utilizes turn-back data to drive the identification of critical systemic issues; supports a monthly corrective action board (CAB) meeting
  • 3. Safety - Drives safety as a number on e priority; chairs or participates in at least one major site committee for Environmental, Health & Safety
  • 4. Financial - Supports the facility GM business cost reduction and productivity initiatives; meets or exceeds all financial requirements and operational goals for the unit
  • 5. Employee Engagement - Focus on communication, training, teaming management practices, and employee respect to foster a diverse culture of engaged and committed employees

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 8+ years of experience in Engineering, Quality, Aerospace, Manufacturing or similar field
  • 5+ years of experience leading teams
  • US citizenship required due to government contracts


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree in technical of management field
  • Good analytical skills to develop, monitor, and interpret key metrics and business indicators
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with strong quality leadership skills
  • Strong desire to succeed and pursue personal growth and development opportunities
  • Creative troubleshooting skills
  • Possess excellent judgement and professional maturity
  • Strong proficiency with MS Office products and managing portfolio of projects
  • Experience working independently with limited supervision in a fast paced environment while maintaining collaborative relationships
  • High energy, dynamic individual who strives for continuous improvement
  • Ability to create positive relationships and craft clear communications
  • Results focused work ethic to resolve issues in a timely manner
