The Site OpX Leader is primarily responsible for leading the deployment of OpX elements through strategy development, implementation of initiatives and the continued expansion of the OpX culture within the organization.

This role requires significant leadership skills, as well as technical skills such as manufacturing process analysis, Value Stream Mapping, lean manufacturing principles, 6-Sigma Certification, etc. The individual will need to drive change management, effectively communicate throughout the organization and collaborate to achieve target performance and share best practices.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

As the Site OpX Leader, the candidate will lead the Operations Excellence disciplines, including manufacturing engineering, industrial engineering, ACE/Lean, development operations, training, automation and Connected Factory activities for the site. The candidate will also lead capital strategy & planning, product cost reduction, and business process management to achieve world-class operational performance. Some of the key requirements are listed below, and are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

The duties and responsibilities regularly performed for this position are:

  • Work in collaboration with Core OpX  and site leadership to identify clear strategies and initiatives to drive overall business performance
  • Drive assessment of current state performance and identify opportunities to achieve world-class performance.
  • Provide regular and ongoing feedback regarding improvement opportunities to Site Leadership and to OpX Leadership.
  • Coordinate, lead and execute improvement projects and initiatives in order to achieve business needs and objectives.
  • Drive OpX culture throughout the organization by organizing & facilitating OpX events as necessary, driving accountability for OpX within all levels in the organization and ensuring standards are followed correctly.
  • Identify and eliminate process waste by continually driving a cultural shift in the organization with sustainable results.
  • Implement key metrics and controls to track progress of improvement projects and provide regular updates.
  • Development of OpX capability within the site through training of site personnel.                                                                                                                                                                               

Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to engage others - fostering teamwork and building strong relationships within the site and also across PW. Ability to influence and build relationships, motivating and inspiring others through highly effective communication and exemplary presentation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work and deliver results in a cross functional matrix organization with both  direct and indirect interaction
  • Experienced in organizational and business change management and leading transformation within the operations environment.
  • Prior experience with Lean/Agile methodology or framework such as ACE (Lean), Lean Six Sigma, etc.
  • Independent leader capable of developing strong network of key resources quickly to ensure delivery on results with a sense of urgency
  • Results-oriented with strong communication and customer focus
  • Excellent communication and coaching skills
  • Hard working and able to quickly adapt to new environment and demands
  • Willing to challenge others and be challenged
  • Comfortable in learning new systems and new ways of thinking and acting

Education / Certifications
  • Bachelorâ€s degree and 10 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced degree and 8 years of prior relevant experience.

Other Requirements:
  • Travel required ~20%
