Hot Section Engineering Advanced Methods group develops, deploys, and supports game-changing design tools and processes. These enable Pratt & Whitney to continually open up the boundaries in state of the art gas turbine engine technology. The primary focus of this group is for Hot Section Engineering tools and methods, but requires coordination and collaboration with other methods groups within Pratt & Whitney Engineering.
You will participate and lead project teams for the development, maintenance, and support of new tools and processes that support thermal lifing practices in Hot Section Engineering. Utilizing object oriented programming skills with Python, you will work closely with customers to understand and document requirements, develop software systems and/or methods, testing/validation of the developed products, and deployment to the customer base.
A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or a similar engineering field required.
Dual or advanced degrees which include computer science or software engineering preferred.
- A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or a similar engineering field
- 2+ years of experience in an engineering role
- 4+ years of experience in an engineering field
- Background in aerothermal or heat transfer engineering
- Programming with Python or other object-oriented language
- Strong writing, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work within a team
- Able to work in an export controlled environment.
